Los Angeles this time of year is hazy and foggy and the sky is all sorts of crazy colors and layers and there are times when I can see little color fragments along the horizon. This shade is inspired by those colors and the change of seasons here in LA.

I have always loved lights and lamps and collected them for years. I found that I was drawn to mid century Italian plastic designs of Joe Colombo and Gae Aulenti as they offered beautiful glowing art pieces. I wondered, if there was a way to bring such craft and beauty to the more common fabric lampshade. As a painter and new home owner I became ensconced in the world of interior design and noticed how a beautiful lampshade could transform a light source and a room. So, I started to experiment with different materials. After painting my home with Farrow and Ball interior paint I started to wonder how I might bring this incredible pigment and tone into lighting and started to experiment.
